Cigna: Going the Extra Mile For Girls on the Run

If you attended our Girls on the Run Fall 5K this past Sunday, you probably noticed Cigna Healthcare’s name and logo on our 5K shirts, race signage, and banners.  You may have received your race bib from a Cigna employee working the registration table or strung friendship beads alongside a Cigna folks at the Inspiration Station. Cigna’s support of and presence  at our 5K made all of these little and big moments of joy possible!

Cigna and GOTR Memphis have been united in our missions to create healthy communities since 2018. Exactly six years ago, 80 5K participants proudly crossed the finish line wearing their ‘presented by Cigna’ 5K shirts. This Fall, 630 people joined together in Overton Park to run, walk, volunteer, or cheer alongside our 160 Girls on the participants, their coaches, family members, site staff and friends.  This growth is a direct result of Cigna’s financial investment in our important work happening at schools, community centers, and parks within Memphis. Their funding has allowed us to create an accessible, dynamic and inclusive events where individuals and organizations from across our city embrace positivity and hope, and experience the tremendous benefits of an active lifestyle.

Thank you Cigna, for showing up year after year, season after season, for our girls, families, and greater GOTR Memphis community.  As our presenting sponsor, you’ve built a unique and inspiring event that celebrates girl power across the 901. We can't wait to run (or walk) more miles alongside your network of committed employees.
